Robert Ethan Gunnerson   Writer / Director

Robert was born and raised in the state of Indiana. An athlete throughout his formative years, Robert began his writing career while attending Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana. It was during his sophomore year that Robert started writing and producing one-act plays in the hopes of providing a creative diversion from the rigors of being both a student and basketball player at the college. However, after attending a summer film workshop at Vassar College in New York, Robert found that his true passion was not telling stories on the stage but was seeing them brought to life via the intimacy of film. He moved to Los Angeles and began the arduous task of building his career shortly after graduating in 1992.

In June of 2005 Robert directed and wrote the feature film ARC starring Peter Facinelli, Ken Howard, Ann Cusack, and Mel Harris. Robert also edited and scored the film.

Two of Robert's most recent scripts, entitled If You Loved Me At All… and Hooray, We Lost!, were both finalists for the Sundance Institute's Feature Film Program. Prior to that, Robert's screenplay The Distance was produced by Jennifer Schaefer and Kirkland Tibbels of FilmNext. In addition to writing the script, Robert also earned the right to play the lead role in the film. The Distance eventually went on to win the BEST DRAMA AWARD at the New York International Film & Video Festival.

In addition to The Distance, Robert also wrote, produced and starred in the Award-winning short film South Of Hollywood, a mockumentary that pokes fun at blockbuster action films.
